A bstract We study the Feynman propagator of free scalar fields in AdS 3 with a conical defect. In bulk, defect is represented by massive particle; dual CFT, it heavy operator that creates highly excited state. construct solving bulk equation motion geometry, summing over modes field, and passing to boundary. The result agrees calculation based on method images /? N , where also sum geodesic lengths. On boundary, becomes semiclassical heavy-light four-point function. interpret field as double-twist primary states formed excitations top defect, we check correlator crossing-symmetric matching its singular behavior Virasoro vacuum block. argue long-range correlations are “thermally” suppressed more studying critical continuous phase transition at BTZ threshold. Finally, apply our results holographic entanglement entropy exploiting an analogy between scalars replica twist fields.
